EMPOWERMENT TECHNOLOGY
ICT AS A MEDIUM ADVOCACY
1.
HOW INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY (ICT) HAS TRANSFORMED THE
EDUCATIONAL METHODOLOGIES WHEN YOU WERE IN GRADE SCHOOL AND NOW IN
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
This unprecedented event has change the world and has brought it into a new era, the time of online learning for all people. The presence of ICT in education allows for new ways of learning for students and teachers. E-learning or online learning is becoming increasingly popular and with various unprecedented events taking place in our lives, this does not only open opportunities for schools to ensure that students have access to curriculum materials whilst in the classroom but also allows them to ensure students outside the classroom such as at home or even in hospitals can learn. The benefits of ICT in education is of such that students in the classroom can all learn from the curriculum material. Students with special needs are no longer at a disadvantage as they have access to essential material and special ICT tools can be used by students to make use of ICT for their own educational needs. Despite this, it opens up new issues related to the 'digital divide' and providing access to ICT tools and resources for those who are less fortunate. Both are 21st-century skills that are best developed whilst ICT remains transparent in the background of subject learning. The best way to develop ICT capability is to provide them with meaningful activities, embedded in purposeful subject-related contexts. ICT has transformed this present reality more convinient and easy than years we spent when we are in grade school. Historically, a learner’s educational opportunities have been limited by the resources found within the walls of a school. Technology-enabled learning allows learners to tap resources and expertise anywhere in the world, starting with their own communities. For example:
• With high-speed internet access, a student interested in learning computer science can take the course online in a school that lacks the budget or a faculty member with the appropriate skills to teach the course.
• Learners struggling with planning for college and careers can access high-quality online mentoring and advising programs where resources or geography present challenges to obtaining sufficient face-to-face mentoring.
• With mobile data collection tools and online collaboration platforms, students in a remote geographic area studying local phenomena can collaborate with peers doing similar work anywhere in the world
. • A school with connectivity but without robust science facilities can offer its students virtual chemistry, biology, anatomy, and physics labs offering students learning experiences that approach those of peers with better resources.
• Students engaged in creative writing, music, or media production can publish their work to a broad global audience regardless of where they go to school.
• Technology-enabled learning environments allow less experienced learners to access and participate in specialized communities of practice, graduating to more complex activities and deeper participation as they gain the experience needed to become expert members of the community
2.) CONSIDER THE COMPARISON
SINGING OF NATIONAL ANTHEM
When we are in elementary, you can seen that everyone is paying attention regarding the act of nationalism to be expressed when singing our national anthem "Lupang Hinirang". Clearly you can hear the voice of everyone singing the national anthem properly and seriously. In this present time during my Junior High School days, we used background music for the national anthem is used and expected many students didn't participate when it comes on singing national anthem. Majority remains listening or either just vibing throughout the song played during flag ceremony.
Back in grade school, we used to write on our notebooks manually using our pens and effort in order to produce a notes that will help us in reviewing our studies and lessons. But now, when we write concept notes, technology make use of its role inorder to provide efficient, reliable and better informatikn for use students to improve our learnings and knowledge gain when it comes on writing our concepts notes.
PRESENTATION AND VISUAL AIDS
When we are in grade school we used manila paper and pentelpen as a main tool in order for us to make a presentable visual aids. But now in the present time, we make use of multimedia devices such as making powerpoint presentation using useful apps inorder to present our reports in front of our class. Laptop play a vital role in making our visual presentation outstanding, by expressing your ideas on mins and creating unique design that will highlight and make your visual report excellent.
CLASS RECORD
Before, our teachers need to record our scores regarding our outputs and projects to be graded in their recording notebook. They use calculator in order to calculate for a precise, fair grade for all. But now use of modern technology by inserting the scores on microsoft excel in their laptop and computers. In just one click, the result will easily appear and that will help to lessen the workload of teachers in computing manually.
CLASS DISSMISAL
Before, when we were in grade school every class dissmisal we used to play different games such as patintero and chinese garter but now in the present time after the class dismiss every students hold their respective phones to brows on their social media accounts, play ml/coc etc.
ASSIGNMENT AND RESEARCH
